Community Updates

Fiber Optic Service

Fiber installation throughout the park is substantially complete, including repairs to settled areas, concrete replacement, backfilling, and grading. The current anticipated go-live date for T-Mobile Fiber service is September 30th.

Residents who are interested in learning more about available service options may visit T-Mobile's website, call them at 1-866-620-7479, or visit their local T-Mobile store. We will continue to provide updates regarding the launch date and any upcoming informational meetings with our T-Mobile representative.

Indoor Pool

The renovation of the indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, and surrounding areas has been completed, and the community celebrated the grand opening on August 14. There were a total of thirty-seven guests. The park would like to once again thank all our volunteers, including Mary Anne Davis, Debbie Rystedt, Debbie Koerner, Leann Murphy, Al Murphy, Judy Shew, Patti DeTommaso and Donna Reed. Congratulations to those who won the wonderful door prizes! We also want to thank Marilyn Cummins and Barb Wasko for performing our celebratory ribbon cutting.

As a reminder, please SHOWER before entering the pool, the spa or the sauna. The indoor pool closes at 10pm. That is the time all facilities are locked and no longer available.

A replacement exhaust fan has been installed in the indoor pool area. A custom screen for the sliding doors is also being fabricated and will be installed once completed.

We are pleased to hear the positive feedback from residents and hope everyone enjoys the newly renovated facility.

New Chairs Have Arrived

New folding chairs have been placed in the North and South Halls. These new chairs replace the bent, misaligned and non-matching chairs that we had previously.

A big thank you to all the volunteers who helped unload, unbox, and position the chairs in the halls.

Governing Documents

The revised Holiday Condominium governing documents have been distributed to owners through the Holiday Condominium website and email. Copies of both the current and proposed documents are also available at South Hall.

Owner workshops have been held both in person and via Zoom, and blog posts continue to provide factual comparisons between the existing and proposed documents.

These documents remain DRAFT documents, and constructive questions and feedback are welcome. Our goal is to provide owners with accurate information to assist them in making an informed decision.

Water Valve Replacement Project

ATLAS DrainWorx has completed the first phase of the water valve replacement project, with a total of 29 valves replaced.

Additional valve work remains, including several valves between the homes on 13th and 14th Streets, and the installation of at least one eight-inch valve near the tennis / pickleball courts. Testing and future repairs may occasionally require brief, localized water interruptions, but efforts will be made to avoid shutting off water to the entire park whenever possible.

If you are still experiencing low water pressure, please consider checking and replacing the aerators on your sinks and showers. If your home has a whole-house water filter, replacing the filter may also help improve water flow.

Recently Kevin Stevens (President of the Board of Directors) noticed Facebook posts from owners stating they did not receive notice of the shutdown, and some were unaware of our valve replacement altogether. In an effort to guide these owners to the Holiday Condominium website, where they can receive timely updates and information regarding the shutdowns, Kevin posted the following on Holiday Condo Happenings, HC Connections, and Advocates.

“Please check the Holiday Condo Website for important updates and information. The Board of Directors and Park Management do not post information on Happenings, Connections, and Advocates. Thank you and Happy 250th Birthday!”

As a result, he has been blocked by the administrators of both Advocates and Connections. We hope the administrators of both sites will continue to share important information regarding community updates, service interruptions, facility shutdowns, and other matters that affect residents. The goal should be to ensure that members of those respective groups receive accurate and timely information about what is happening in the community.

For accurate and timely information regarding park projects, water interruptions, facility closures, and other community matters, please check the Holiday Condominium website and official park communications.

The Board of Directors and Park Management do not post official park business updates on the Happenings, Connections, or Advocates Facebook pages.

Street Improvements

D&G Pavement has addressed the water “ponding” issue at Coralite Lane near the North Hall. It is a huge improvement!

Other street improvements planned for this year will primarily include asphalt sealing and repairs around selected drain boxes. Work is expected to begin sometime in September or October.

Tennis and Pickleball Courts

The tennis and pickleball courts have been resurfaced and painted for both boundaries. The vendor did an exceptional job and corrected a number of issues to extend the lift of the courts. Additionally, the posts for the nets have been core drilled at the proper depth to maintain true vertical so the nets will no longer have a dip in the middle.

Speeding in the Park

Speeding continues to be a serious safety concern throughout the park. Driving too fast creates unnecessary hazards for pedestrians, cyclists, golf carts, and other residents.

Unfortunately, enforcing speeding violations can be difficult. Violations issued to individuals are often ignored. If you witness someone speeding, please consider speaking up and reminding them to slow down.

The Board and management team will continue exploring ways to encourage compliance with the posted speed limit. Delineators have been installed on Coralite in an effort to slow traffic and discourage speeding. If these efforts are unsuccessful, speed bumps may be installed later this fall.

Please slow down to keep our community safe for everyone.

Trash and Recycling Reminder

Please help us keep our recycling program operating properly:

Cardboard: All boxes must be completely broken down and placed in the designated cardboard recycling bin.
Aluminum cans: Please place aluminum cans in the designated blue bins near the maintenance shop. Aluminum recycling generates income for Holiday Condominium and raised more than $2,000.00 last season.
Household trash: Do not place household trash in recycling bins or in the trash receptacle next to the mailboxes. The park gets fined $128.00 each and every time trash is found in the recycle bins.
Household trash should be placed on the curb on the designated trash days, Tuesday and Friday, or taken to the compactor.
No metal or cardboard should be placed in the compactor.

Signs are posted for your convenience and in an effort to communicate what goes where. PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS!

New Maintenance Technician

Goodbye, Mo Catherwood. You will be sorely missed.
