Regarding the Proposed Governing Document Updates...
The Board of Directors and Park Management are committed to communicating with residents in a respectful, factual, and transparent manner. We recognize that there are many discussions taking place on social media regarding the proposed governing documents. While we respect every owner's right to express their opinions, the Association will not engage in online debates or respond to inflammatory accusations, misinformation, or the like. Doing so is not productive and only creates unnecessary division within our community. Instead, our focus remains on providing accurate information and answering questions through official Association communications, workshops, meetings, and published materials.
We encourage every owner to review the proposed governing documents alongside our current governing documents. Many of the provisions contained in the proposed documents already exist in our current documents. Much of the revised language is intended to:
Incorporate changes required by Florida law since our documents were last updated;
Clarify provisions based on current operating practices and legal guidance;
Address lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic;
Improve emergency management provisions following Hurricane Ian; and
Modernize language to better reflect today's legal and operational environment.
It is also important to remember that these are proposed governing documents. They are not final, are subject to revisions based on owner input, and do not become effective unless and until approved by the membership as required by our governing documents and Florida law.
If you read statements such as, "These are my opinions only," or "You should investigate this yourself," we encourage you to do exactly that. Read the current documents, review the proposed documents, attend the informational workshops, ask questions, and make your own informed decision based on the official documents rather than rumors or speculation.
Our goal is not to persuade through debate, but to ensure that every owner has access to accurate information and plenty of time to review the documents so you may cast an informed vote when the time comes. As a reminder, the proposed documents have been emailed, are online and hard copies are available in the South Hall for your convenience. You are welcome to submit any comments or questions to office@holidaycondominium.com.
Thank you for taking the time to stay informed and engaged in the future of our community.
~Kevin Stevens, President
